Karakoy Loft in Istambul

Karakoy Loft has been designed to a 45 years old bachelor, in the heart of Istambul, facing the Getronagan church and the Gálata tower in the background.

Designed by Yasemin ARPAC & Sabahattin Emir from Ofsit Studio, Karakoy Loft is placed in the heart of Istanbul, Turkey, and has been designed to fit the needs and requirements of a 45 years old bachelor. The original windows were made larger to allow more light into the loft and by spanning through the whole width of the building, they have made the whole living room into a balcony.

Iron rods stretching the whole height of the walls offers a modular shelving system that can be used as a library, a woodshed, a wardrobe, and even kitchen storage. The modern and elegant kitchen is set with a counter made of concrete blocks that step down to create the dining table and another step down to create a contemporary hearth.
