For the contest, the elegantly shaped shell was crafted from soap-treated Danish oak and the seat was upholstered with sealskin from Greenland. The mat chrome frame resting on an X referred to HRH Crown Prince Frederik’s title Frederik the 10th. This classic, yet modern chair is extraordinarily comfortable thanks to the broad and curved shape of the moulded shell. Subsequently, Rex has won the Japanese design award G-Mark. The chair is also available in lacquered birch or walnut and in a fully upholstered version.
