The 1968 student uprisings in Paris, Rome and the US overthrew old conservative values and started the Flower Power generation of peace, love and harmony. In the same year, Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey depicted the future using Verner Panton pieces on the set, and Man was soon to set foot on the moon. In the world of design a colourful, playful pendant hung in restaurants and exhibitions, and very soon in everybody's homes. With its two semi-circular spheres, the Flower Pot has long proved its timeless design, making it a contemporary, or rather a classic, piece till today.
