When Poul M. Volther created Corona in 1964 the chair was an obvious hit. Corona was light yet had a sculptural gravity that was not easily forgotten. This combination made Corona a star in countless movies, fashion series and music videos; in fact, Corona probably has the most impressive stage career of all Erik Jørgensen’s products. Corona’s success is partly due to its fusion of technical cool and warm and inviting form that refers directly to the human anatomy with its spine and ribs.
