The Osso Bench was created exclusively for Dpot by architects Rafic Farah and Otávio Coelho. The manufacturing technique is called strip-planking, the same technique used to build vessels ranging from small canoes to large wooden sailboats. As in boats, the bench is handmade by simultaneously positioning long pink cedar strips next to each other so that they conform to a pre-defined shape template. Osso is the perfect piece for public environments, bringing elegance and sophistication. The Osso Bench is made of carbon fiber, which provides sturdiness and lightness, allowing the wood bark piece to be only 8 mm thick.
