All forms created by David Trubridge are inspired by nature and the New Zealand landscape. Ingenious and with a surprising effect, they are built from identical shapes, cut out by a computerized process and secured together through vertexes, thus emerging the Koura Lamp. The resulting organic shape is due to the flexibility of the material itself: a thin bamboo panel. When lit, they light up from inside revealing the color of the material, while simultaneously casting shadows around.
